CORDELE — Chief Jonathan Windham of  Crisp County Fire and Rescue announced the recent appointment of Mike Postell as the assistant chief for that department.
Postell, age 51, has been with the department for approximately 28 years.
“He is my right hand man,” said Chief Windham. “Without him I would not have survived this long. He is hard working and dependable and very deserving of the position.”
Windham made the appointment official back at the end of April. Postell is highly knowledgeable of the day-to-day operations of the department and is capable of stepping into the shoes of the chief if necessary and will act in the chief’s absence.
“I am honored to be chosen for this position,” said Postell. “I feel truly privileged to have such confidence placed in me. I will work as hard as I can to continue serving the community as I have the past 28 years.”
