CORDELE – The Crisp County Chapter of the Relay for Life and Christy Saylor, Chairman, would like to say a Big Thank You to everyone for making this year so successful. The Leadership Team of Jamie Patterson, Tricia Hughes, Mary Purvis, Michael Fraser and Jessica Davis the American Cancer Representative did
an Awesome Job!!. Also the Relay Team wants to thank the 13 teams for their fundraising efforts. As a result of this collaboration over $30,000.00 has been raised so far this year leaving only $3000.00
more to reach the yearly goal. To the Survivors we will continue to Relay so that one day our children,
grandchildren or great grandchildren will never have to hear the words “you have cancer”. To the Caregivers who battle this disease everyday, thank you. The DJ Randy was great and Dedicated to
God’s performance was wonderful. This year’s relay was held Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Cordele Lions
Club Fairgrounds. Even with the inclement weather earlier in the day, the Relay for Life was held inside the building. Having to change from outdoors to indoors fun was still has by all kids, adults, survivors and
caregivers. This year’s theme was Paint the Town Purple.
We are always looking for Committee Members or Team Captains, if you are interested you can contact
Christy Saylor at (229)273-3762. Pictured are the Cancer Survivors and caregivers
that attended the relay Friday night.
