Elizabeth Wilson Taylor

BYROMVILLE —Elizabeth Wilson Taylor, of Byromville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2016. Mrs. Taylor was born in Morrow, Ohio, and was the daughter of Vincent Decker Wilson and Cora Hartzell Wilson. She was the cherished and loving wife of the late Warren Taylor for sixty years.
Mrs. Taylor was an active member of Byromville Baptist Church, serving as a Sunday School teacher for fifty-five years. She was past president of W.M.U., a member of the adult choir, Season Saints, and worked with the youth in earlier years. She was active within her community and was a member of the Byromville Women’s Club where she was past president. She served as a member and chairman of the Dooly County Board of Family and Children’s Services for forty years. Mrs. Taylor enjoyed being with her grandchildren and sharing with them the love of books and gardening.
She was a devoted mother of five children who hold close the memory of her. Her children are Becky and the late Larry Willingham, Marsha Taylor, Sharon and the late Kenneth Rogier, and Paula and the late Robert McKinley. She was predeceased by her son David Warren. One of six children, Mrs. Taylor is survived by one sister, Rachel Thomas of Radnor, Ohio.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Watson-Mathews Funeral Home in Montezuma, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 p.m., Thursday, March 31, 2016 at Byromville Baptist Church. Burial will immediately follow this celebratory service in Hepzibah Cemetery.
