CORDELE —Nancy Middleton Jones, age 89, died Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Bethany House Hospice in Auburn, Alabama. She was born December 5, 1926 in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of Guy Edmond Middleton and Jeanette Marie Toney Middleton.
She married Russ Harris Jones of Cordele, Georgia on October 15, 1949 in Louisville, Kentucky. They were married 55 years. She was a lifelong Episcopalian and a member of Christ Episcopal Church, Cordele, Georgia for 60 years.
Mrs. Jones was predeceased by her husband. She is survived by her children, Dr. Edd C. Jones (Robin) of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Nancy J. Dupree (Robert) of Tallassee, Alabama, and Guy M. Jones (Cindy) of Wetumpka, Alabama, 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. The memorial service and burial will be held Monday, March 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, Cordele, Georgia with Father Larry Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Christ Episcopal Church 408 South 1st Street, Cordele, Georgia 31015 or Bethany House Hospice 1171 Gatewood Dr. Bldg 100, Auburn, Alabama 36830.
