CORDELE — Monday just before 9:30 p.m. officers responded to Auto Zone, located at 619 East 16th Avenue in reference to a robbery.
Upon arrival at the scene staff members reported that two men entered the store, one brandishing a “tan” in color handgun and the other with a backpack. According to the employees the suspect with the gun was wearing a red, shor-sleeved shirt over a white, long-sleeved shirt, blue jeans, black shoes, gloves, and a black mask with a red hat. The second suspect with the red and black backpack was wearing a black hooded jacket with his face covered, blue jeans, gloves, and black shoes.
The pair left the store, after cleaning out the cash register and instructing the staff to lay on the floor. A nearby witness informed police they saw a small silver car leaving the area shortly after the robbery.
That lead, as well as all other are being looked into at this time. Police were able to capture still pictures from the store’s surveillance cameras.
