Brunswick, Ga. VA clinic opening delayed

BRUNSWICK, Ga. (AP) — The opening of a Veterans Administration outpatient clinic in Brunswick has been delayed.

The Brunswick News reports that Rep. Jack Kingston's office says the clinic, which had been due to open in March, now is scheduled to start seeing patients in May.

An opening date for the clinic has been pushed back a number of times since it was first announced in 2006.

The clinic is expected to serve some 4,000 to 5,000 veterans, and officials say that number could increase.

It will include a primary-care doctor, podiatrist, optometrist, dietician, pharmacist and mental health professionals.
