DAWSON — Thanks to Crisp Academy’s shocking 47-41 Friday night upset of Terrell Academy, the girls Region 3-A GISA regular season title race just became anybody’s to win.

That outcome ending a Lady Wildcats’ 21-game losing streak to the Lady Eagles dating back to the 2000-01 season created a virtual three-way first place tie among Crisp, Terrell and Fullington. All of them now have a loss in region play where the Lady Wildcats are 2-1, 14-5.

As high as the Lady Wildcats were flying after their win, the Wildcats were just about as low as could be as the 55-36 defeat dealt them extended their losing string to eight games and left them at 3-13 overall, 0-3 in the region.

Both Crisp teams have another outing on tap Tuesday when they host Randolph Southern to complete the first round of their region play.
