Battles pitting arch-rivals Crisp and Fullington academies will highlight the competition scheduled this evening for teams representing the four area schools.
The visiting Lady Wildcats will take a record of 16-2 overall, 2-0 in Region 3-A play into their 6:30 p.m. duel with the 3-8, 1-2 Lady Trojans. The host Trojans will carry a report card of 6-5, 3-0 into their clash with the 4-8, 1-1 Wildcats.
Other action this evening finds Crisp County’s Cougars (5-10, 4-3) and Lady Cougars (8-5, 5-2) at Albany High for a 6 p.m. Region 1-AAAA doubleheader and Marion County at Dooly County’s Bobcats (6-3, 3-1) and Lady Bobcats (2-7, 1-3) for a 6 p.m. Region 4-A twin bill.
Wilcox High’s Patriots, who are 11-3 in all games and 5-1 against fellow Region 2-A members, and Lady Patriots, who stand 3-8 overall and 1-5 in region play, will be idle this evening.
A pair of 6:30 p.m. Thursday private school match-ups find Tiftarea at Crisp County and Terrell Academy at Fullington.
Friday’s slate calls for Crisp County to host Worth County and Wilcox to entertain Echols County at 6 p.m., Crisp Academy to welcome Grace Christian and Fullington to visit Georgia Christian (Dasher) at 6:30 and Dooly to be at home vs. Brookstone at 7 p.m.
The Dooly and Wilcox teams will see duty again at 6 p.m. on Saturday when the former travels to Macon County and the latter to journey to Lanier County (Lakeland).

Wildcats weather playoff scares from Crusaders
Heeding the “where there’s a will, there’s a way” adage, Crisp Academy’ Wildcats struggled mightily Friday en route to a GISA Class A baseball quarterfinals sweep of Robert Toombs’ Crusaders.
