Crisp County’s boys will be coming off a 1-3 performance in the Converse Invitational in Decatur, beating Alcovy 57-54 in their opener before losing to Columbia County (74-55) and Bartow, Fla., (69-44).

The Crisp girls lone yule tournament outing resulted in a 67-45 loss to Valdosta in the Tift County High Invitational.

In their Christmas holiday play, Dooly’s Bobcats won the Wilkinson County Invitational by beating the host school and Wheeler County. The Lady Bobcats placed third there, rebounding from a 69-37 loss to Wilkinson by beating Wheeler 59-49.

Wilcox High’s Patriots notched a third place finish in the Turner County Invitational, sandwiching wins of 71-53 over Americus-Sumter and 61-58 over Lowndes High in between a 72-67 loss to Coffee County.

Crisp Academy’s Lady Wildcats won both their starts in the round-robin tournament they hosted, beating Southland 45-19 in their first start and edging Mt. de Sales 41-36 in double overtime in their second outing.

The Wildcats went 1-1 in that affair, downing Southland 52-36 before bowing to Mt. de Sales 57-48 when they were unable to preserve the 10-point lead they held to start the final period of play.

Wilcox’s Lady Patriots and Fullington Academy’s Trojans and Lady Trojans did not take part in any holiday tourney play.
