Dear Editor:
Regarding your recent article related to Wayne Martin's announcement of his pending retirement from Crisp Regional Hospital, please allow me to share that this is a huge loss not only for Crisp Regional and for those the organization serves but also for the entire state of Georgia.
I had the privilege of working for Mr. Martin as director of Support Services from 2001 - 2002. He has and continues to be a mentor and friend.
He gave me sound advice early in my career that I hold strongly to to this day! His advocacy for the associates who work tirelessly every day to ensure quality healthcare, respect and support for the physicians, many of whom he personally recruited to the area, are examples of leadership characteristics that he possesses.
Most importantly, consistent compassion and focus on doing the right thing every time for those in need are seen in his daily activities.
I do wish Mr. Wright much success as he assumes leadership of Crisp Regional - he truly has large shoes to fill!
Thank you!
