Fortunately, I no longer have children attending CCHS that have to deal with this problem. I however think there could have been a better way of handling the road construction without completely closing the road. There are businesses in that area that have suffered in an already struggling economy. One place of business that gave the people of this city a place to go eat, shop and enjoy themselves, closed its doors because customers found it to difficult to get to the establishment. Once again Cordele has proved that it will not support a place for family entertainment, giving young and old a place to go without going to another town. I travel 24th Ave. every morning and the traffic has always been a challenge during school days. It is now terrible. On a good note the crossing guards do a fine job keeping the traffic moving.

This whole deal to me has been crazy. First surely they could work around a one lane closure. Why in the world did they just start on the road a few days before school started back. They had all summer break. My daughter told me one day last week that they saw them actually working on the road. Wow!
If you want to see a traffic back up go to the 24th and 90 hwy junction @ 745 in the AM. No-one directing traffic there. Probably going to be a wreck there before road is reopened.By the way the lady that directs traffic on 24th at Frontage is great.
I still can't believe that this town allowed this contractor to just shut down a road as important as this one.
