By popular demand, the Cordele Dispatch is printing another holiday cookbook this year. Readers responded so well to the first one the newspaper printed in 2007 that we decided to produce another one this year.
We are looking for new and different recipes than those printed in the original book. Please get out your favorites, make copies and send them to us.
The deadline for submitting recipes is Friday, Sept. 24 at the close of business.
Five finalists in each of five categories: Main Dishes, Vegetables, Salads, Desserts and Breads will be selected for the cookoff on Saturday, Oct. 9.
First, second and third place dishes in each category will be chosen that morning, then all the participants will be invited back for lunch and the awarding of cash prizes.
Each recipe that is printed will bear the name of the person who submitted it, and photos of the winners will be printed.
We plan to get the books back in early December so they will be available for Christmas gifts
