Vienna —
Willis G. Sangster, 72, of Vienna, died Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2012 in Smyrna Baptist Church with interment in Lane Cemetery.
Born in Dooly County, Mr. Sangster was the son of the late J. R. C. Sangster and Ola Lane Sangster. He was a member of Smyrna Baptist Church where he was a deacon and sang in the choir.
Mr. Sangster was the owner of Cotton Picker Rebuilders and was a former chief of the Dooly High Volunteer Fire Department. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother.
Surviving him are his wife, Brenda Sangster of Vienna; a daughter, Melanie Akin (Brian) of Vienna; two sons, Todd (Kim) Sangster and Brad (Nikki) Sangster, both of Vienna; four sisters, Christine Highsmith of Albany, Jean Peavy of Vienna, Linda Simpson of Montrose and Betty Herrington of Fort Bragg, NC; three brothers, A. J. Sangster of Blairsville, Ellis Sangster and Roger Sangster, both of Vienna; and six grandchildren, Catherine Mays of Perry, Alexis Sangster of Vienna, Adam Mitchell and Allison Mitchell, both of Montgomery, AL, Will Sangster and Clay Sangster, both of Vienna.
The family requests that memorial gifts be made to Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201 or United Hospice, 708 East 16th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia 31015.
