Thelma J. Faircloth
CORDELE — Graveside services for Thelma J. Faircloth of Cordele will be held at 2 p.m. today at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mrs. Faircloth, 71, died at her residence Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007.
Born in Turner County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Lillie Mae McLemore Lewis. Mrs. Faircloth was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Johnny Faircloth Sr. of Cordele; her children and their spouses,Robin and James Barry, Mike and Angie Wilkerson and Angie and Joe Rainey, all of Cordele, Johnny Jr. and Laurie Faircloth of Americus, and Shanna and Stephen Thombley of Savannah; two brothers, Thomas Lewis Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Rebecca and James Hiram Lewis and his wife, Betty of Ashburn; a sister, Annette Harrell and her husband, Lewis of Rebecca; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, David Wilkerson.

Gary Gerard Braziel
PITTS — Funeral services for Gary Gerard Braziel were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 in the Pitts Church of God with the Revs. Britt Peavy and Brett Jarriel conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
Alice Powell, pianist, played soft music and accompanied herself as she sang “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You.” Britt Peavy, Brett Jarriel, Doug Powell and Tim Conner sang “Grace Alone.” The service was closed with “Come To Jesus.”
Pallbearers were Wes Bennett, Josh Barfield, Keith McDuffie, Andy Powell, Ubaldo Gonzalez and Tim Conner.
Serving as honorary pallbearers were Quinton Peavy, Curtis McDuffie, Ken Arant, Derrell Rutherford, Roy Bohannon, Bobby Bishop, Charles Fisher, Sid Ezell, Dr. Timothy Trulock, Harrison Bullock, Lamar Whitley, Ronnie Culpepper, Rick Freil, Leon Arant, Mel Powell, Glenn Ledford, Jerry Phillips, Wayne Nutt, Ken Clark, Stacy Bloodsworth and George Conner.
The committal was in Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele with the Rev. Ken Arant officiating.
George L. Bentham
WARWICK — Funeral services for George L. Bentham of Warwick were held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Service with the Rev. James Wedges officiating.
Jane Schum, pianist, played soft music before and after the service. The service was opened with Massey McKinley singing “I Can Only Imagine.” Richard Bolin, accompanied by Ms. Schum, sang “In The Garden” and “The Old Rugged Cross.” The service was closed as he sang “America The Beautiful.”
The interment, with full military honors, was in Andersonville National Cemetery in Andersonville.
Alleyne Tully Wommack
MADISON — Alleyne Tully Wommack, 67, died Sept. 28, 2007 at her home in Madison.
Mrs. Wommack was born June 18, 1940 in Utica, N.Y. to Oscar Stratton Tully and Beatrice Hinkson Tully. On Aug. 21, 1965 she married Thomas Wilson Wommack.
Mrs. Wommack was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Madison and the Madison Writer’s Guild. She was director of Encouraging Word Ministries and was a published author.
She has published two devotional books, Portions from Romans Eight and Portions from Phillipians. She most recently wrote LifeLines for Those Living with Cancer.
Alleyne belived her call was to be an encourager to others in their faith walk. Her heart was to teach people the love of God that they would know who they are in God and be empowered to live a victorious life. Alleyne has been transplanted into the ultimate victory and leaves us with a legacy of God’s light and love.
Mrs. Wommack is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tom Wommack and their children, Shawn Wommack, Brian Wommack, Erin Moser, Patrick Wommack and Kathleen Bryant. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, Hope Womack, Chris Scott, Anna Beth Wommack, Madison Bryant, Michala Bryant, Chris Wommack, Josh Wommack, Justin Wommack, Josie Wommack and Shawn Allen Wommack and one great-grandchild, Caleb Scott.
The family will receive friends today from 6-8 p.m. in A.E. Carter Funeral Home in Madison. The funeral service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. in Madison First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at the Madison Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Madison/Morgan Community Theater, the Building Fund of Madison First United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society.

Clara Sue Coppedge Tarrer
VIENNA — Funeral services for Clara Sue Coppedge Tarrer, 75, will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna, with interment to follow in the Vienna City Cemetery.
Mrs. Tarrer died Saturday, Sept. 29, 2007 in a local hospital.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Avner Crosby and Jewell Singletary Crosby. She was a homemaker and a member of the Vienna United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husbands, James B. Coppedge Sr. and Charles William Tarrer.
Survivors include a daughter, Beverly C. Sheffield of Vienna; sons, James B. Coppedge Jr. (Patsy) and Howard T. Coppedge (Wanda) of Vienna; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Lula Mae Greene
CORDELE — Funeral services for Lula Mae Greene will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the sanctuary of Beulahland Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery. The Rev. Chester Askins will officiate the services.
Mrs. Greene died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007.
Survivors include a close cousin, Bessie McDonald Small of Sanford, Fla.; her niece and caregiver, Frankyn (James) Burnell of Cordele; a special great-nephew, Lewis Burnell of Cordele; nieces and nephews, Jessie (Eddie) Walker and Dorothy (Quincy Albert) Lucas of Cordele, Marynla Terrence, Debra (Michael) Belcher and Cynthia (Calvin) Bell of Lee Summit, Mo.; cousins, Cathy Workman, Ebony McDonald, Mary Lois Turner, Flera McDonald, Pearlene McDonald and Evelyn Dewett of Sanford, Fla., Rosalind McDonald and Gradean Gaines of Cordele and Vellice Butts and her family of Florida; sisters and brothers-in-law, Juanita Patrick of Atlanta, Clarence Carter of Washington, D.C., Robert (Betty) Greene of New Jersey, Lawrence (Kate) Greene and Margie A. Greene of Cordele; nephews-in-law, Rufus (Frances) Simpson of Cordele and Tourgee Simpson of Atlanta; a foster daughter, Ruby (Willie C.) Coleman of Cordele; foster nephews, Arthur L. Parker and Ernest Kearse of Cordele; special friends, Emma Shiloh, Christine Pounds, Leila Postell, Ruby Felton, Lessie Royal, Bertha Harrell, Willie M. Gaines, Lillie B. Holland, Myrtice Dawson, her neighbors at Woodvale Apartments and the staff of Cordele Health and Rehab; step-sisters, Ruby Gordon and Leila Warren of Jacksonville, Fla., Lucille Harris of Cordele and Idalene Mason of Chicago, Ill.; and foster nieces, Eva M. Crapp, Debra Parker, Willie M. Crapp and Elizabeth Crapp of Cordele.
