Cordele —
As a result of a five-week investigation into suspected methamphetamine trafficking by the Mid-South Narcotics Task Force, an arrest has been made, Crisp County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Billy Hancock reports.
Thirty-three year old Alexis Holton of a Gum Dr. apartment address has been charged with three counts of selling methamphetamine, criminal attempt to sell meth, trafficking in meth and trafficking in meth within 1,000 feet of a housing project.
During the investigation, undercover agents were able to purchase suspected methamphetamine from Holton on various occasions, Hancock said.
Once agents were able to obtain enough probable cause to get a search warrant for the Gum Drive address, Holton was arrested and the warrant served.
During a search of the residence, officers seized approximately 65 grams of suspected methamphetamine with a street value of $5,200, some $1,197 in cash and a set of scales.
Holton who is currently on parole for prior drug trafficking charges is being held at the Crisp County Detention Center.
Mid-South Narcotics Task Force, under the direction of Major Jeff Youngblood, the Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office made the arrest.
