Abbeville —
Wilcox County Commissioners had to postpone their regular monthly meeting because of a lack of a quorum Tuesday night. They had approved the purchase of a sheriff's vehicle at a called meeting last week.
When the county governors convene next Monday at 6:30 p.m. for their rescheduled meeting, they will consider a new solid waste contract, the adoption of county time sheets for all departments and an update to their personnel policy concerning leave time.
Last Thursday, they approved the purchase of a Ford F150 for the sheriff's department from Fitzgerald Ford at a cost of $24,500. Sheriff Mike Martin said he needed one more vehicle to have a complete fleet; however no plans were made to buy anything else at this time.
