VIENNA — Leonard Ashford told Council members here Monday night about his plans for an attraction in the city that will be known as Charlie’s Town.
He provided a blueprint of what the attraction will have to offer, and said, “There will be water slides and a lazy river. There will also be go-cart tracks, batting cages, and a game room.
“There will be a rec room with a food court and we will have party rooms for birthdays or other occasions. We will have an oversized party room that will hold anywhere from 250-300 people.”
Ashford informed council that the park will provide as many as 300 jobs. Unique to Charlie’s Town will be an on-site daycare facility for employees.
“Employees will be able to bring their children to work,” said Ashford. “We may even open daycare to the public. We are very excited about being here.
“There is nothing like this in this area for at least 100 or so miles. I would really like to see Vienna on the travel channel one day.”
Charlie’s Town will be located in the area behind the Braggin Bull off Highway 215 and near I-75.
Council and citizens applauded Ashford after he addressed the meeting to show their excitement about the coming park.
“I have been trying to get a swimming pool in here for years,” said Councilman Walter Brown.
