Special excursion has a few seats left

CORDELE — Friends of SAM Shortline are sponsoring a special Valentine fundraising excursion this Saturday, Feb. 13, and volunteer Jack Windham says there are still 25 seats available.

For more information or to make reservations, interested participants should call SAM Shortline at 877-GA-Rails or 276-0755.

The train will depart from Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park at 4:30 p.m. and arrive in Plains at 6 p.m. where dinner will be served in the community center. Wine and cheese will be available on the trip over, and all ladies will receive a flower. Coffee will be served on the return trip.

Windham says some really nice door prizes will be awarded during the evening.

The train should arrive back at the park about 9:30 p.m.
