Learning about adjectives

Cordele — Have you ever gotten bored reading? Well that won't happen in Miss Andrea Pollock's first grade homeroom.

Her students are learning that adjectives are those special words that make reading and writing so much more entertaining! These first graders are having a blast with adjectives.

Some were caught cutting out pictures and identifying the different types of adjectives by placing them on T-Charts.  Others were reaching inside a grab bag, using adjectives to describe what they felt, and guessing what was inside before taking a peek.

A third group was enjoying research. Yes, I said "enjoying" research.  These students were locating facts and incorporating adjectives into their writing to compare and contrast various animals.  What an exciting day in first grade!
