ROCHELLE — Four Wilcox County High School students have been nominated for the Governor’s Honors program.
Nominees include John Wilson Gordon in social studies, Rob Land in environmental science, Rebekka Ledford in environmental science, and Caleb Studstill in agriscience and biotechnology.
These students have all submitted applications and gone through the interview process. The Governor’s Honors Program is a six week summer instructional program designed to provide intellectually gifted and artistically talented high school students challenging and enriching educational opportunities not available during the school year.
Students will be notified the first week of April if they are selected to participate in the summer program.
Land, Ledford, and Studstill attended the University of Georgia Tour of Technology hosted by UGA’s College of Agricultural Science and the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources. The students spoke with faculty and current students at that time about opportunities in agriculture.
Gordon is the son of Graham and Susie Gordon, Land is the son of Ricky and Sherrie Land, Ledford is the daughter of Greg and Lisa Ledford; and Studstill is the son of Joseph and Jo Jo Studstill.
