VIENNA — To cast a ballot in the mayoral race here today, voters must go to City Hall. Only county and state offices are included on the ballots at the various polling precincts throughout the tri-county area.
Three candidates are running for the mayor’s seat which has been vacant since Lanier Roberts resigned in mid-January. Mayor Pro Tem Eddie Daniels has been the acting mayor since then.
Vying in the non-partisan city election are the former mayor, Willie J. Davis whom Roberts defeated last November; local businessman Emerson Lundy Sr. and the Vienna Georgia Power office manager, Mike Roper.
Should there be a need for a runoff, that election will be conducted Aug. 5, also at City Hall.
Voters in all elections will need to present photo identification to poll workers before they cast their ballots.
