Ashburn — Georgia DOT announced that Norfolk Southern Railroad has scheduled crews to upgrade the railroad crossing on SR7/US 41 at Milepost 12.35, north of Ashburn in Turner County.
Weather permitting, beginning at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2007 SR 7/US 41 traffic will be detoured until 6 p.m. This detour is being done to allow Norfolk Southern Railroad to replace the existing crossing surface with a prefabricated concrete system.

Safety of the traveling public and workers is a top priority for GDOT and informed, attentive motorists help shifts such as this occur smoothly and safely.
