Drugs seized during Operation Blue Lightning

VIENNA — November 26 thru 29 Dooly County Sheriff's Office, Lowndes County Sheriff's Office and Georgia State Patrol along with Camden County Sheriff's Office conducted Operation Blue Lightning on I-95.
During the Operation, Dooly County S.T.E.P. Unit seized approximately 75 lbs. of hydro marijuana from a loaded tractor trailer hauling frozen yuco plants out of Costa Rica enroute to New York. Marijuana value is about $4000.00 per lb.
Another stop made by Dooly S.T.E.P. was a rental car enroute from New York to Miami Fl. transporting $251,000.00 cash inside a suitcase in the trunk. Two females from Pa. stated they knew nothing about the money. Cases turned over to DEA.
Another approximately $60,000.00 cash and 20 lbs. of marijuana and over 2 ounces of cocaine were seized. Also during the Operation 2 subjects fled on foot from a traffic stop, later arrested which solved over 30 burglary's in both Ga. and Fla.
