LAKE WASAUKING, PA — Mark Brubaker, a former Cordele resident, has been taken into custody here and will be extradited back to Crisp County where he faces charges of embezzling funds from the Crisp County Touchdown Club.

According to Crisp Sheriff Donnie Haralson, Brubaker allegedly made approximately 483 illegal transactions between July 31, 2009 and Aug. 13, 2010.

Haralson said his office was contacted on Aug. 13 by members of the Touchdown Club executive board who claimed that Brubaker had embezzled funds.

An investigation by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division revealed the illegal transactions, and that evidence was carried to the Crisp County magistrate court judge who issued a warrant for his arrest, Haralson added.

Haralson said Brubaker was arrested Wednesday, Sept. 8, by the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office in Lake Wasauking, where Brubaker had been residing.
