CAAA plans Christmas events

CORDELE — Cordele Area Arts Alliance has two special activities coming up in December.

In conjunction with the O’Neal Historic District, the Alliance is sponsoring a Christmas Night Tour of Homes Saturday, Dec. 12 starting at 5 p.m.

Everyone is invited to go to the Arts Alliance building at 701 E. 17th Ave. at 5 p.m. for an open house. The actual tour will start at 6 p.m. in the O’Neal district, and visitors may go into homes until 8 p.m.

Tickets are $5 each and may be purchased in advance at the Alliance. Some tickets may also be available at the open house.

For tickets or more information, interested persons should call Sunny Lee at the CAAA, 229-273-6242.

On Saturday, Dec. 19, the Alliance will host a Christmas Boat and Dock Parade on Lake Blackshear beginning at 6 p.m. in the area of Loran Williams Park.

The parade will conclude at the Cypress Grill and Lake Blackshear Marina.

An entry fee of $25 is required for each decorated boat or dock. A cash prize will be awarded to winners in each category.

Santa will be riding on the Lady Liberty which will pull up at the end of the parade and dock at Cypress Grill where St. Nick will visit with everyone.

All proceeds from both events will go to the Arts Alliance.
