Cordele —
An 18-year-old local youth has been charged with simple battery and third degree cruelty to children.
A report released by the Cordele Police Department for the period between Friday-Monday identified the alleged offender as Christopher Mathis of 1310 Drayton Rd.
Details of the incident that occurred last Friday were not provided.
In other activity during the four-day period covered in the press release, officers:
— Picked up on Friday a subject identified as Tri Chaing Burnam, 33, of 605-A Sixth Ave. E.. He was being sought on a obstruction of an officer warrant secured by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
— Cited Deon Valentino Dempsey Jr., no age listed, on Friday for possession of marijuana. Dempsey already was wanted for a probation violation.
— Arrested Vivianna Lowesia Woods, 21, of 725 Cloverdale Circle, for shoplifting after she allegedly took items on Saturday from Bealls Outlet without making payment for them.
— Took Lorenza Antwanne Solomon, 43, of 910 18th Ave. E., into custody on Saturday for a city probation violation warrant.
— Investigated thefts that occurred on Friday at 1101 16th Ave. E., on Saturday at 1215 16th Ave. E., on Sunday at 607 19th Ave. E. and on Monday at 1217 16th Ave. E.
— Received burglary complaints on Saturday from 418-A 22nd Ave. W. and on Sunday from 1303 S. Hickory St.
— Issued traffic citations to three persons.
Quintonio Markee Hunt, 26, of 305-D 24th Ave. W., was arrested Friday for a driver’s license violation and defective vehicle equipment.
Lowane Harrell Jr., 22, of 118 Edgewood Dr., was charged Sunday with DUI-drugs.
A 16-year-old girl was ticketed Monday for a driver’s license and a child safety restraint violation.

Crash causes rollover; injuries unknown
