Cordele —
An 18-year-old armed robbery suspect that local authorities had been seeking for over five months was taken into custody Saturday by Cordele Police Department officers.
A press release from the city identified the alleged robber as Marquerius “Dre” D’Andrew Carter of a 306 E. Rockhouse Rd. address.
Carter had been sought since Aug. 1, 2012, when the alleged victim, Vernon Tolbert, reported being robbed outside his Morningside Apartments residence.
No injuries were reported in that incident in which Carter fled the scene before police arrived.
In other weekend activity for police, officers:
— Made a number of arrests for traffic violations.
Michael Richard Adkins, 35, of 150 N. 10th St., Pitts, was cited Friday for no insurance and improper headlights.
Aaron Tyrone Gaston Jr., 21, of 608-A Blackshear Rd., was booked Friday for driving while unlicensed or on an expired license and no brake lights.
Sheila Diane Brown, 31, of 610-F Blackshear Rd., was charged Friday with driving while unlicensed or on an expired license and also for operating a vehicle with an expired license plate.
Brian Keith Oliver, 40, of 512 11th Ave. W., was cited for a driver’s license violation, DUI, failure to maintain a lane of traffic and failure to use turn signal.
Crystal Donnita Clark, 45, of 704 Eighth St. N., was booked for a safety restraint violation and then arrested on a warrant issued by Houston County authorities.
William Earnest Bass Jr., 23, of 721 Cloverdale Circle, was cited for a driver’s license violation and a safety restraint violation as was Shaffer Lerone Hardric, 28, of 111 Haddock St., Vienna, and Adolfo Guerra, 17, of 2306 Eisenhower St.
— Took Santana Lacole Porter, 28, of 606-F Blackshear Rd., into custody for probation violation.
— Arrested Sherry barker, 52, of 601 N. Hickory St., for violation of the city’s leash law.
— Picked up Deshoyd Johnson, 22, of 1306 Dave St., Vienna, on a warrant issued by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
