Cordele — STAR students and teachers at Crisp County High School and Crisp Academy were recognized today at the Cordele Lions Club noon meeting.
Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce has sponsored the STAR program since its inception in 1959. Chamber Chairman Richard Grogg presented plaques to Crisp County High School senior Amee Mehta who qualified not only as her school's STAR student, but also as the county-wide honoree.
She chose her marketing teacher, Susan Fuller as her STAR teacher.
Jordan Howard is Crisp Academy's STAR student, and he selected Helen Hunt who taught him English in 9th,10th and 11th grades as his STAR teacher.
Both young people brought their parents and several school officials to the meeting.
