Cordele —
Women’s Physique, a unique fitness center for women only, is in the middle of its grand re-opening.
Deanna Smith bought the center in June 2010. In celebration of the business’ first year anniversary, she remodeled the facility and added a variety of new programs and equipment.
She still offers 20 minute tanning sessions; a child’s play area; weight, body fat and measurements at the time of joining and monthly; and a thirty-minute express workout program with cardio and strength training designed to burn 500 calories in a session.
The new advanced thirty-minute workout will offer more options such as the use of dumb-bells. Exercises in these classes will be changed once a month, Ms. Smith says.
New strength training classes will focus on strengthening one part of the body at a time, such as the abdominal area. Strength training may also be done on one’s own. Tabatha Bullington will be offering massage therapy.
New cardio equipment, treadmills and elliptical machines have been added, along with weekly Wednesday weigh-in programs. According to Ms. Smith, weight loss and healthy eating guidelines will be presented to assist in a patron’s personal health program.
Part of the grand-reopening celebration is a referral program for present members. When they tell others about the program, they are eligible to win a life-time membership. The first winner in that contest is Debbie Sims of Cordele.
“When someone joins, they are not alone. We keep them motivated and encouraged,” Ms. Smith emphasizes. “It is a comfortable and non-intimidating atmosphere. We are open Monday through Thursday 8-7, Friday 8-6 and Sat. 9-1.
“The standard $50 enrollment fee has been discounted to $10 for the month of July,” Ms. Smith adds. “Anyone who walks-in and takes a tour, is automatically eligible to win a massage. That drawing is scheduled for the beginning of August.’
Ms. Smith says she also offers different payment options. Women’s Physique is located at 2010 Central Ave. Ext. Suite D. Women may learn more about the business on FACEBOOK.
Ms. Smith has a bachelor’s degree in exercise science; an internship in cardio rehab and 5 1/2 years working in exercise centers. She has helped people to lose as much as 100 pounds, and has always had a passion for fitness, she says.
Her philosophy is “small changes bring big rewards.”
