Cordele —
Cordele-Crisp Chamber of Commerce’s education committee wants to recognize an outstanding teacher at the upcoming annual Chamber membership meeting.
The only criteria for the award is that the nominated instructor must have taught the person who is making the nomination in Crisp County. Forms must be turned in by Jan. 11, 2013.
Chamber Chairman Eli Tinsley says, “if your child has benefited from an above-the-call-of-duty effort, tell us about it. If you have received encouragement from a teacher, just when it was needed, describe it for us.”
It doesn’t matter if the teacher is on staff at a private, public, technical school or college. All are eligible. Nominations will be accepted from current and former students, co-workers of the nominee, or a parent.
“Just tell us in 100 words or less why you want us to give special recognition to this ‘exceedingly excellent teacher,’” says Tinsley. Nominations should include the teacher’s name and school affiliation and should be printed or typed.
Send nominations to msimmons@cordele-crisp-chamber.com or to 502 S. 2nd St., P. O. Box 158, Cordele 31010.
