Cordele —
Michael J. Ousnamer, 46, of Palmetto, FL was arrested on Friday, Sept. 3 and charged with speeding 91/70, having no insurance, possession of psilocybin, possession of a controlled substance and bringing stolen property across the state line.
Ousnamer, driving a 2006 white Jeep, was pulled over for speeding by Officer James Bray, Jr. He informed Bray he was traveling to Indiana to visit his parents.
When the officer ran a check on the tag, he discovered that it replaced by another tag number which was registered to a Suazo Montes. Bray then called Trooper Steve Bowen for assistance.
After running the VIN number, Officer Bray learned the vehicle was stolen from Hernando County, Florida. Trooper Bowen handcuffed Ousnamer and placed him in the patrol car. Both officers conducted an inventory of the vehicle and found numerous jars containing psilocybin and a pill bottle containing tramadol.

— Rodrecius Deontay Ross, 32, of 802 W. 27th Ave., Cordele was arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 1 for obstruction of officers.
Officer Melvin Jones and Deputy Sales responded to a residence in reference to a trespasser. The offender stated his girlfriend would not let him inside.
After running his information, the officers learned the offender had three warrants and Ross fled the scene.
— Thomas Lee Daniel, 53, of Vienna was arrested on Thursday, September 2 for terroristic threats/acts and simple battery.
Deputy Bernard Harvey and Deputy Walker were dispatched to the complainant’s residence who claimed the offender kicked in the back door to gain entry. She said Daniel came in cursing her, saying he was going to burn the house down.
She stated he put his finger in her face knocking her glasses up and hit her in the lip. Witnesses corroborated this information.
Daniel was already on five years probation for aggravated assault, terroristic threats and criminal trespass.
— On Wednesday, Sept. 1, Steven Lewis Young, 33, of Richey, FL was arrested on an active warrant from Broward County Sheriff’s Office in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
— Tashiba Oenise Perrymond, 25, of Conley, Ga. was wanted out of Henry County and arrested on Wednesday, Sept. 1.
— Ann Michelle Cousin, 54, of Warner Robins was arrested as a pedestrian under the influence on Wednesday, Sept. 1.

Burnette passes
Long-time resident and community leader Jean Burnette passed away Sunday. Burnette served the City of Cordele first as assistant city administrator from 1974 until 2000 when she became city administrator. She retained that position until her retirement in 2010.
