Abbeville — In a runoff election today in WIlcox County, Mike Martin has been elected sheriff. Martin will assume his new office Jan. 1, 2013.
With more than 2000 ballots cast, Martin polled 1,479 votes while his opponent, Lonnie Curry received 907.
