Cordele —
Local authorities are seeking a “tall white male” who entered a local pharmacy last Thursday, boldly took a case of cigarettes valued at $700 and walked out of the store.
Cordele Police Department Patrolman James Wynn said that in responding to that fheft complained from from Walgreens just after 9 p.m. he found a traumatized cashier who told him what had taken place.
Detective Scott Farrow, who has taken over investigation of the crime, said the employee told officers she was restocking a shelf behind the register with cigarette when the theft occurred.
The offender, who was wearing a Suzuki racing jacket, reportedly walked briskly into the store, grabbed the cigarettes and hurrriedly left the premises.
The incident was captured on video that police are hoping will lead to identification of the subject either by his face or the unsual jacket he was wearing. Anyone having information about the incident is asked to contact authorities.
