Cordele —
Four more shoplifting arrests have been made at Walmart where one of the offenders had a marijuana possession charge levied against him as well.
Cited for the two offenses was Matthew Ortiz, 22. Taken into custody at the same time as Ortiz was Adolfo Guerra, 17. Both subjects reside at 2306 Eisenhower St.
Also accused of shoplifting at Walmart were Leonard Settles Jr., 24, of 611 24th Ave. E., and a 14-year-old girl who cannot be identified under Georgia juvenile laws.
One other person booked for shoplifting was Betty Combee, 54, of 313 11th Ave. E. She is accused of removing items from Pilot.
In other activity between Thursday and early Tuesday, officers:
— Cited Ashleigh Vinson, 23, of 3217 Hwy. 90 S., and Raquetta McCay, 29, of 1506 Flint Dr., for disorderly conduct after they allegedly caused a disturbance Friday inside It’s Fashion.
— Booked Joe Sheffield, 47, of 411 Seventh Ave. E., for aggravated assault after he allegedly pointed at two women a BB pistol that looked very much like a real weapon. He also is accused of making threats toward the females.
— Took Gregory Nance, 36, of 404 10th St. S., into custody on Saturday after he allegedly struck his girlfriend in front of a small child.
Nance was arrested for Simple battery (family violence) and third-degree cruelty to children. It was later determined he was being sought on identical charges in connection with a similar incident this past April.
— Levied criminal trespass charges against William Priest, 41, of 720 Hawpond Connector, and Kerry Lewis, 51, of 410 Holsey Place.
Priest allegedly damaged doors at an apartment complex while Lewis is accused of returning to his mother’s home after being instructed not to do so by officers.
— Picked up two persons being sought on warrants.
Latrina Dawson, 35, of 105 Fourth St. S., was arrested for the Crisp County Sheriff’s Department on an unspecified charge and Eric Walker, 41, of 2106 Seventh St. S., was wanted for probation violation.
— Cited Tangnika Mathis, 37, of 401 Whitehall St., Vienna, for filing a false report of a crime after it was discovered she was trying to report here an accident that actually occurred in Dooly County.
— Charged Jennifer Head, 31, of 108 Spring St., with tampering with city utilties (water).
— Arrested 17-year-old Raheem Montford, of 808 15th Ave. W., for disorderly conduct after he started a fight with another young male and charged a 14-year-old female for being an unruly juvenile when she refused to go to school.

Crash causes rollover; injuries unknown

Taste of Home a success
Cordele Dispatch, with assistance from a number of local businesses, brought a Taste of Home cooking school to Cordele Tuesday night. Professional culinary specialist Michelle Roberts of Birmingham, AL prepared 10 dishes on stage while she explained what she was doing and added a number of humorous antidotes to her presentation.
