CORDELE — Several members of the Crisp County High School DECA club are coordinating a 5K and one-mile fun run Saturday, Dec. 15 with all proceeds to help the family of Precious Burns pay her funeral expenses.
The event will begin at Impact Sports and Fitness on Greer St. with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the actual running of the 5K starting at 8:30 a.m. The one-mile fun run will start shortly after.
Early registration is avaliable for $20 and day-of registration is $25. Early registration instructions are located on the entry forms which are available at Impact Sports and Fitness, Adams Drug Store, CCHS, and CCMS.
The first 100 people to register will receive a t-shirt on the day of the race. Awards will be given in each 5K age group.

Those persons who don’t run, but still would like a chance to assist the family may do so at the main office of CCHS or by mailing checks to CCHS, 2402 Cougar Alley, Cordele 31015, Attn. Jenna Rhodes.
Checks should be made out to CCHS and marked for the “Precious Burns Fund.”

Just as driving under the influence is unacceptable on Georgia roads, officials from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, the Georgia State Patrol and the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety have come together to make Georgians aware that it is no longer acceptable on the water either.
