Cordele —
City police officers arrested three persons on Saturday for entering a motor vehicle with intent to commit a theft or a felony and cited two others for the same offense on Sunday.
A press release from the police department identified those first taken into custody as Desi Jarrod Wiggins, 21, of 723 Ben St., Vienna; Robert Bernard Adams Jr., 21, of 200 Powell St., Vienna, and a 16-year-old whose identity can’t be revealed under Georgia juvenile laws.
Arrested on Sunday for alleged similar crimes were Jekevious Deao’n Towns, 18, of 103 15th St. S., and Tierra Sharnice Adams, no age listed, of 107 15th St. S.
In other weekend activity, officers:
— Took two shoplifting suspects into custody on Friday at Walmart.
One of those cited was Robin Carol Jones, 45, of 706-A 21st Ave. W. The other was a 16-year-old girl who can’t be publicly identified since she is under the age of 17.
— Received a lone theft complaint made Friday from 303 17th Ave. E.
— Cited two persons for probation violation.
Leon Walker, 55, of 403 23rd Ave. W., was picked up on Friday for the City of Cordele and Stephanie Newberry, 42, of 303-A 14th Ave. W., on Saturday for the City of Warwick. Newberry also was charged with public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
— Took Gustavious Bernard Blunt, 31, of 506 13th Ave. E., into custody on Saturday on an unspecified warrant issued by the Treutlen County Sheriff’s Office.
— Made Saturday arrests of Eddie Gasco, 60, of 406 Eighth Ave. W., for battery and a 12-year-old youth for being an unruly juvenile.
— Issued traffic citations to six persons.
Friday’s arrestees were Jorge Reyna Campos, 36, of 412-C 15th Ave. E., driver’s license violation and no brake lights or working turn signal, and Jeremy Scott Felts, 36, of 705 Drexel St., driver’s license violation and driving on the wrong side of the road.
Saturday traffic offenders were Willie James Johnson Jr., 30, of 2010 Crisp St., no brake lights or working turn signal, driving on the wrong side of the road and a second charge of DUI-less safe and DUI-refusal, and Matthew Burnette, 33, 214 First Ave. E., driver’s license violation.
Sunday’s traffic violators were Monterlisa Raymono Paul, 34, no full address listed, failure to maintain lane, DUI-less safe and DUI-refusal, and Crystal Lashawn Grant, 22, of 501 20th Ave. E., driver’s license violation and two counts of safety restraint violations.
