Cordele —
The Tri-County Employer Committee, South Georgia Technical College and the Georgia Department of Labor’s Cordele Career Center is sponsoring a seminar on unemployment insurance for businesses in the area Thursday, Aug. 19.
South Georgia Technical College, 402 S. Midway Rd. will host the seminar from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Business owners, human resource managers, supervisors and entrepreneurs are especially invited to attend.
Cherry Rizer of Albany, an employment and training consultant with the Department of Labor will lead the seminar which will focus on the state’s regular unemployment insurance program.
Employer committees are groups of local business representatives who establish and maintain working relationships between employers and the Department of Labor Career Centers.
David Fant, human resources manager of Norbord Cordele Company serves as chairperson of the Tri-County Employer Committee.
