Woman charged in fatal wreck on US 41
CORDELE — Americus resident Frances Reddick turned herself in to law enforcement authorities here Friday after warrants for her arrest were obtained on charges of 2nd degree vehicular homicide and failure to stop.
Reddick posted bond and paid fees totaling $2,788 for the two misdemeanor charges and was released from the Crisp County Law Enforcement Center. The charges stem from a Sept. 8 wreck on U.S. 41 in north Cordele that killed 55-year-old Daniel Adkins of Pitts.
Further court dates for Reddick have not been announced. If convicted on the vehicular homicide charge she faces a maximum of 12 months imprisonment and a fine of $1,000.
According to a press release from the Cordele Police Department, Adkins was traveling north on 7th Street in a 1989 Dodge pick-up truck at approximately 11:22 a.m. last Monday when Reddick, driving a state-owned 1996 Ford van used by Middle Flint Behavioral Health Care, ran a stop sign as she was traveling east on U.S. 41/1st Avenue.
Adkins’ truck was struck by the van driven by Reddick, and he died later that afternoon at Crisp Regional Hospital as a result of his injuries, the press release said.

Implausible chickrabs
You will not believe it! Shoot, I wouldn’t believe it myself had I not observed the sight with my own eyes.
Yesterday was hot. I mean really hot with the humidity high and the temperature within a couple of degrees of 100 even after 8 p.m. when I began my daily run through the woods and fields of the backside. - Support projects
