Registration for the first ever Cordele Senior Olympic Games is currently ongoing. The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, March 24th, 2018.Particapates must be 50 years of age or older to register and compete. There are twenty seven Different events that participates of all levels of physical fitness can compete in, all of which will be taking place at Georgia Veterans State Park, the Rec Department, Impact Sports and Fitness, Turner Park, and the tennis courts at Crisp County High School. Participates can compete in as many events as they wish, but there is a potential for timing conflicts with certain events taking place at around the same time. The first place finisher (s) in each event within each particular age group will receive a medal at the conclusion of the event, while second and third will receive a ribbon. The entry fee for one event will be $15.00, while each additional event will be $5.00more for each respective event. Any entry after February 15th will be assessed a late fee of $25.00, with March 1st being the final day for entries will be accepted. P. List of all events: 5k Road Race, Archery, 3-on-3 Basketball, Golf, Nintendo Wii Bowling, 50 Meter Dash, Tennis, Bag Toss(Corn hole), 1500 Meter Run, Beach Volleyball, Horseshoes, Discus Throw, 400 Meter DASH, Shot Put, 100 Meter DASH, Bait CASTING, 800 Meter Dash, Table Tennis(Ping pong), Long Jump, Open Water Swim, 200 Meter Dash, Free Throw Contest, Football Throw, Bench Press, Kayak Race, Soft Ball Throw. The Senior Olympics is a great way for senior citizens to get active and maintain a good level of health while competing in a fairly competitive environment. Our Northern Heights Seniors will be taking an active part in The Olympics, Linda Mitchell and Senior Staff will be The Silver Sponsor: We will have our Church Name on at least 200 shirts, our name will be listed on Chamber web site and in one of their newsletters. We will receive four of the T-Shirts. Other Churches in the area seniors will also be participating.
