A man was severely burned Wednesday afternoon when a tanker truck exploded while it was parked on the premises at Synergy Solutions, located at 155 Landfill Road in Crisp County.
The explosion took place at approximately 1:06 p.m. The man who was seriously burned was transported by EMS to Crisp Regional Hospital, where an air evacuation helicopter is on standby.
Very little information about the incident is available at this time, including the names of those injured or what caused the explosion. Haley Wade, a spokesperson with the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, said two other people were treated for minor injuries on the scene.
The fire resulting from the explosion has been extinguished and there is no immediate public safety threat. This is a developing news story and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.
